Effective April 13, 2012, new visa processing fees for U.S. non-immigrant and immigrant visas are in effect.  Most non-immigrant visa fees have increased.  Non-immigrant applicants for tourist, business, transit, crew member, student, exchange visitor, and journalist visas will pay an application fee of $160; petition based applicants for H, L, O, P, Q and R visas will pay $190 and E-1, E-2 & E-3 visa applicants $270.

Each day, the United States welcomes thousands and thousands of visitors and immigrants from all over the world.  The Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana can help you sort through whether or not you need a visa, what kind of visa you need, and what documents are needed to apply for a visa.  Please check out our customer service statement to visa applicants.

The U.S. Embassy is located at Prešernova 31 in Ljubljana.  The Consular Section is open daily to the public from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  The best way to contact us is through email at consularljublj@state.gov.  We also offer limited phone inquiries from 2 to 4 p.m. at +386-1-200-5595, depending on staff availability.  All visa matters are handled by appointment only.  For non-immigrant appointments, please see our online calendar.  For immigrant or permanent resident appointments, please send us an email at consularljublj@state.gov.  And please check our holiday schedule to ensure that we are open on the date you plan to come to the Embassy.

• If you wish to come to the United States for a short period, first check out the Visa Waiver Program information to see if you are eligible to travel visa-free.  If you do not meet the requirements of the Visa Waiver Program, then please select Non-Immigrant Visas.

Visa Waiver Program (VWP) travelers are required to obtain a travel authorization via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to traveling to the U.S. by air or sea.  The ESTA registration is free of charge.

• If you wish to move permanently to the United States, please select Immigrant Visas.
