American Poet keynotes International Literary Festival in Slovenia, September 5-9, 2007
American Poet Carolyn Forche-Mattison participated in and read a variety of her works at the 22nd Vilenica International Literary Festival hosted in Slovenia in September. Forche-Mattison’s perspectives on life and relationships as viewed through an American lens were a perfect fit to the festival theme “Who is afraid of the truth of literature?” which also explored issues surrounding censorship in literature. Forche-Mattison’s readings received enthusiastic acclaim from fellow literateurs and from public audiences at the Festival opening and final award ceremony. Partially sponsored by the U.S. Embassy, the festival brings together international poets, writers of prose, dramatists and essayists in numerous literary and cultural events including roundtable discussions, literary readings, symposia, and publications.
