    Ambassador Mussomeli was an invited participant at the Employment Bridge roundtable organized by International Relations students at the Faculty of Social Sciences (FDV) in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana Career Center, Student Council, Student Club and Student Organization FDV. The Employment Bridge roundtable supports the exchange of ideas and experiences between students, professors and potential employers.

    US Air Force Band Check Six in Škofja Loka, Slovenia

    Check Six is the premier jazz band of the United States Air Forces in Europe Band. Since its inception in 1945, this 13-member jazz ensemble has been performing the best of America's original musical style throughout Europe and Southwest Asia. As the only Air Force jazz band stationed in Europe, Check Six represents the United States and its Air Force to military and civilian audiences from Ireland to Azerbaijan.

    On June 3, 1945, soldiers from the US 10th Mountain Division posted in the mountains of Slovenia set up a giant slalom race course. The ski race and that part of history have been largely forgotten in Slovenia and the United States until Brigadier General (ret) Janez Kavar saw a photo of Mt. Mangart in a memorial to the 10th Mountain Division in Vail, Colorado ten years ago.
