U.S. Embassy Security Procedures
All visitors must be screened prior to entering the U.S. Embassy compound and are subject to inspection via walk-through metal detector and/or a hand-held metal detector by Logal Guard Force personnel. ALL personal items will undergo full inspection by use of x-ray and other detection equipment.
ANY visitor refusing to submit to security screening will be prohibited from entering the U.S. Embassy compound -- NO exceptions.
The following items are prohibited inside the U.S. Embassy compound:
- Any liquids, gels, aerosols, food items;
- Knives, cutting instruments, firearms, firearm replicas, ammunition, paintball guns, tools, explosives, lighters and matches, gases and pressure containers, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers and organic peroxides, poisons, infectious materials, corrosives, organics, radioactive materials, magnetic materials, any equipment containing fuel or other flammable liquids, hazardous materials;
- Illegal drugs/narcotics, drug paraphernalia, contraband of any kind;
- Electronic or recording equipment of any kind, to include laptop computers, cell phones, tape/CD/MP3 players, pagers, keyless remotes, etc.
- Backpacks, bags, briefcases, laptop computer bags, luggage, large purses, oversized strollers, etc. (Please note that there is NO storage space available in the Embassy building -- leave these items at home, in your hotel, or make other arrangements.);
- Aniamls, pets of any kinds other than personal working/guide dogs.
