U.S. Embassy Supports Conference on Roma Integration, April 23, 2007, Novo Mesto

On April 23, 2007, Political-Military Officer Philip Beekman helped open a conference on Roma Integration in Novo Mesto organized by NGO Novi Paradoks and the Institute for Ethnic Studies.  The daylong conference, titled “Offering Hands: Respecting Diversity,” was opened by the Mayors of Novo Mesto and Trebnje, the Director of the Government Office on Nationalities, the Head of the Slovenian Red Cross, the Vice President of the Slovenian Roma Association and Mr. Beekman.  It was partially sponsored by the U.S. Embassy.
