Musical Composition

Why did you choose to study in the United States?
Mainly, my inner voice led me on this path and of course, the variety of music styles that you can experience in the U.S.

What was different about studying in the U.S. versus studying in Slovenia?
In the U.S. there are people from all over the world which is very refreshing; you get to know many cultural and social aspects, the vibe is more easy-going, but at the same time there is a high level of professionalism and enthusiasm.

Was there anything you found surprising about the U.S. in your time there?
Of course there were many things, maybe not even that surprising but really new to me. The dynamics and variety of Los Angeles, driving around different areas and noticing how the streets are quite simple to find and at the same time how they change with a certain population. You also need to deal with a lot of bureaucracy when you live there.

What would you say to students who say “Why should I study in the U.S.?”
Honestly, it has to be your intuition that tells you so - your inner voice and not so much your mind. It’s an adventure of a free spirit.

What was your most memorable experience, either socially or academically?
Overall, I liked and still like the vibe of just being there, as well as the feeling of “anything is possible.”

What advice would you give students who are interested in pursuing some form of higher education in the U.S.?
Go for it if you feel it in your bones and don’t get scared.

How did your experience studying in the U.S. contribute to your career path?
Well, first of all I stayed there longer than I thought I would and importantly, I still frequently go there and work with some of the best musicians on this planet.
