Charge D’Affaires Maryruth Coleman attends presentation of ventilator to the Children’s Surgical Ward of the Ljubljana Clinical Center, October 24, 2007

“Biking for Life,” a joint project by the U.S. Embassy and Le Monde Diplomatique, raised funds to purchase a ventilator to help children whose lungs have failed.  Biking for Life is a charity cycling event which took place in Kostanjevica na Krki on May 26, in which nearly 200 cyclists rode.  Funds to purchase the respirator for the Children Surgical Ward were donated by sponsors and the cyclists who registered for the ride.  This was the second charity ride, which will become an annual tradition aimed at help sick children.
