Passport Services

The Embassy accepts passport applications from U.S. citizens living or traveling in Slovenia.  As there is only one passport officer in Ljubljana, before coming to the Embassy please click here to make an appointment.

We transmit all the information electronically to a passport production facility in Charleston, South Carolina, and receive the printed passports back by express courier service approximately two weeks later. 

In emergency cases, we can issue a limited-validity passport here at the Embassy, such as when a passport has been lost or stolen and the traveler is not able to wait two weeks for a replacement passport.
