On the occasion of International Roma Day, the Anglunipe Society opened the photographic exhibition, The Copy Conforms to the Original, picturing Roma and non-Roma everyday lives, as well as documentary on the same topic. The project was supported by the U.S. Embassy. The exhibit and film highlight the importance of equality and fighting against prejudice. As the title suggests, equality doesn’t mean that we should all be the same, it means equal rights and dignity for all. Deputy Chief of Mission David Burger spoke at the event, pointing out, “We see in the eyes of Roma children around Europe – including in Slovenia – the same look as those children who have landed on our shores for centuries.  They seek nothing more than equality, than their due as human beings.  They do not seek to be the same as everybody else.”
