Chargé d’Affaires and Minister of Culture talk youth, film, collaboration
Chargé d’Affaires Brad Freden hosted a luncheon at the Ambassador’s Residence in honor of Mrs. Majda Širca, the Minister of Culture. Mrs. Širca was accompanied by Mrs. Vesna Jurca Tadel, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, and Mrs. Lilijana Stepančič, Director of the International Center of Graphic Arts. The Minister was primarily interested in the life of U.S. diplomats in Slovenia as well as the possibility of collaboration, especially in the field of film and youth outreach. Mrs. Širca learned first-hand about the Cultural Envoy Program, a cultural grant program, as the Ministry and the Embassy are often co-funders on cultural events organized in Slovenia.
