Embassy Staff Run the Alpine Marathon in Petrovo Brdo for the Third Consecutive Year, June 16, 2007 Petrovo Brdo 

Detachment Commander Lemarcus Staley and Sergeant Jeff Pilarski took over the Embassy banner by running the 35 kilometer Mountain Marathon in 2007.  Ambassador Robertson and Public Affairs Officer Bob Post started the Embassy tradition in 2005, conquering the 5,000 meters of up and down vertical running.  The all-time record for the run of 3 hours 21 minutes is held by a Slovene, Marko Šubic.  As Ambassador Robertson told the participants last year, "It was probably the toughest physical challenge I have taken on in my life!"  The Embassy Marines have vowed to continue the tradition in 2008!
