American Jazz Group Lights Up Ambassador’s Residence, Ljubljana, May 15
The Western Jazz Quartet, a resident faculty ensemble from Western Michigan University, wowed an eclectic gathering of musicians, politicians, diplomats, and other contacts with a brilliant performance of classic and contemporary jazz at Ambassador Robertson’s residence on May 15. Featuring both their own compositions and those of jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobin, and David Brubeck, the Western Jazz Quartet took the audience on a world tour of international jazz.
The Western Jazz Quartet, made up of bassist Tom Knific, saxophonist Trent Kynaston, pianist Steve Zegree, and drummer Tim Froncek, is currently touring Slovenia and Croatia. In addition to performing live shows, the quartet is also working with music students as part of their commitment to musical education.
