American Senators Voice Support for Work of ITF

In a May 19 letter to the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Sub-Committee, Senator Mitch McConnell, a group of 15 American Senators expressed their support for continued funding of the Slovenian-run International Trust Fund for Demining.  Senator George Voinovich initiated the letter after a visit in early May to the ITF's headquarters  in Ljubljana.  The United States is the largest donor to the ITF and has provided over 82.5 million dollars of support for demining and for the victims of de-mining since 1998.
