A roundtable discussion entitled "Innovations and Intellectual Property Rights" held at the Josef Stefan Institute (IJS), Ljubljana, October 22, 2007

Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Grace Shelton and IJS director Dr. Jadran Lenarčič opened the discussion by emphasizing the importance of the development of stronger intellectual property rights (IPR) in Slovenia.  Keynote speaker Dr. Michael Martin, Vice President of EMTEC from Ohio, explained the function of intellectual property rights in the United States and their role in promoting innovation.  Other speakers discussed Slovenian success stories in innovation and the development of the IPR legislative framework in Slovenia.
