The U.S. Embassy supported a project that had a simple but apt title -- “Music Unites.” The amazing American singer Gwen Hughes joined forces with Combo ensemble of Big Band Grosuplje and went on a short tour around Slovenia. Gwen Hughes, who hails from Atlanta and who was crowned the most popular jazz artist in Atlanta, also has her own American band “The Retro Jazz Kats.” The musicians from Big Band Grosuplje have been active since 1997 and can boast over 200 performances. Together they were just an striking combination that made everyone in the audience excited and energetic. It was impossible to experience Gwen’s energy and stay still. Audiences in Grosuplje and Ljubljana cheered for the lively shows.
