MESSAGE FOR U.S. CITIZENS: UPCOMING GATHERING

The U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana has been notified that several groups are planning a gathering on Saturday, October 15that Kongresni Trg in Ljubljana to express support with protests occurring in the United States.  The main event will begin at 15:00 hours and it is expected to last until 20:00.   Some of the participants are expected to gather on Saturday morning around 10:00 in the proximity of the U.S. Embassy.  Street closures and other traffic disruptions are possible.  U.S. citizens should avoid these downtown areas.

You should avoid the areas of demonstrations and exercise caution if within the vicinity of any demonstrations.  Try to stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of your surroundings at all times.
You can stay in touch and get embassy updates by checking the U.S. Embassy Ljubljana website.  You can also get global updates at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs website, where you can find the current Worldwide Caution, Travel Warnings, Travel Alerts, and Country Specific Information.  If you don’t have Internet access, we have a call center for updates.  You can call 1-888-407-4747, which is toll-free in the U.S. and Canada, or 1-202-501-4444, a regular toll line which is available outside the U.S. and Canada.
