The National Council on Economic Education (NCEE):
2003-2004 Training of Trainers program in Economic Education:  This program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the Department of State, is for candidates from the former Soviet Union, and eastern and central Europe who are or will be in a position to train pre-university leveL school teachers as economic educators.  Further information and application forms may be found on their website http://www.economicsintl.org/.

    The Exchange Section provides comprehensive information about the U.S. Government's sponsored exchange programs and administers these programs in Slovenia on behalf of the U.S. Government. The cornerstones of U.S. Embassy Slovenia's exchange activity are:

    The Fulbright Program operates under a 1993 Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and the Government of Slovenia. An annual average of five to seven scholars and students are sent each way for lecturing, research, and research projects through Fulbright grants ranging from five to ten months. The office cooperates closely with relevant Slovene Government ministries, the two Slovene universities, the Fulbright Committee of Slovenia as well as the relevant U.S. organizations responsible for the administration of the Fulbright scholar and student program in the United States (The Council for International Exchange of Scholars, the Institute of International Education).

    Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program brings accomplished mid-level professionals to the United States for a year of combined academic (NON-DEGREE) and professional work. Fellows are selected based on potential for leadership and commitment to public service.
    Fellowship fields: communications/journalism, natural resources and environmental management, public policy analysis and public administration, economic development, agricultural development/agricultural economics, finance and banking, human resource management, law and human rights, urban and regional planning, technology policy management, educational planning, public health policy and management, drug abuse.

The Exchanges Office is open by appointment only from 9:00 to 16:00, Monday through Friday. We are closed for Slovene and American Holidays.
