Chargé d’Affaires Maryruth Coleman Visits Slovenske Konjice in the Dravinja valley- known for its 850-year-old Monastery, September 26, 2007

On September 26, Chargé d’Affaires Maryruth Coleman visited Slovenske Konjice, a region known for its "Wine Road".  She met with Mayor Miran Gorinšek to discuss attracting business investment to the region. A new industrial zone is currently being established, and the tourism sector is expanding.  Regional tourist attractions include golf courts and spas, as well as the famous ŽiÄ?ka Kartuzija Monastery. The Monastery has an 850 year history, and is known as the first Carthusian monastery built outside of France.
