Charge d'Affaires Maryruth Coleman visits Koper

On February 12, Chargé d’Affaires Maryruth Coleman visited the Slovenian coastal town of Koper to meet with local business, political, and cultural leaders.  Chargé Coleman first met with Igor Bavčar, CEO of Istrabenz, one of one of Slovenia’s largest holding firms with operations in energy, tourism, and information technology, to discuss the alternative energy projects in which Istrabenz is engaged.  Chargé Coleman then dropped by the American Corner in downtown Koper to meet with John Antone, a Washington DC-born sculptor who is currently displaying his artwork at the Primorska University in Koper.  Finally, Chargé Coleman met with Boris Popovič, the Mayor of Koper, to discuss exciting development projects envisioned for the city of Koper.  Chargé Coleman ended the day with a guided tour of the port led by the Luka Koper management team.
