• Women Driving Economic Growth In Southeastern Europe

October 24-26, 2011, Zagreb, Croatia 

The U.S. government hosted the Invest for the Future Conference in Zagreb, Croatia to support women entrepreneurs in the region.  The conference not only brought together women business owners from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia, but also connected them with alumni from the Istanbul event along with other regional business leaders.  The conference focused on issues such as achievements and challenges for women entrepreneurs; cross-border business expansion for women-owned businesses; the importance of networks, strategic partnerships and business associations; access to financial services; sector-specific challenges; and women as advocates for more effective economic policies throughout the region.
