Launch of EducationUSA Advising Center in Ljubljana
On April 8, Embassy Ljubljana co-organized Open Door Day for Study in the USA at the Slovene Human Resources Development and Scholarship Fund (formerly known as Ad Futura). The event was in honor of the official opening of the EducationUSA Advising Center where Slovenian students can information about educational opportunities in the United States.
Marjeta Cotman, Minister of Labor, Family and Social Affairs, Maryruth Coleman, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy and Wesley Teter, Regional Educational Advising Coordinator for Europe gave short remarks during the official opening and stressed the importance of trans-Atlantic educational exchange and study opportunities in the U.S. Slovene Human Resources Development and Scholarship Fund’s EducationUSA Center has now joined a global network of more than 450 advising centers around the world, supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.
Students from all over Slovenia attended the Open Door Day presentations on: Scholarships for Study in the US, Live chat with Slovene students currently studying in the U.S., Dissecting the Application: Dos and Don’ts, Tips for Recommendation Letters and Personal Statements, etc.
